Friends and Family!!!

Life is going really well!!!! I´m still in Santa Anita and am now training Hermana Rodriguez!!! She is so amazing! I love her with all my heart! She is from Mexico and so funny! We have a lot of fun together! I thought training would be hard, even scary, but its so much fun! She already knows everything and teaches really well! I'm teaching her english and she´s been helping me with my spanish! Pronunciación is the hardest! Pray for my spanish! Its gotten a lot better but I still struggle! hahaha, and I almost have a year in the mission!!! I can´t believe it!!

This last week I  had a stomach infection! It lasted two days but I tried to work through it! Until I threw up in a park... then I decided that was probably a good sign we should return to the room. I had a fever that night but the next morning I was feeling a lot better and throwing up a lot less! hahah And now I feel perfect! And two pounds lighter! ahahah jk

Last week we had an ward activity that we, the missionaries planed! Dessert Night!!!! We had a compition of who could make the best dessert! The chocolate cupcakes won! I´ll send photos!! Ohhh..... and someone brought mazamora de TOCUSH..... if you dont know what tocush is... google it.....  its probably the craziest thing a human could eat! Its a puitred potato thats been fermenting in a riverbed for about 5 to 7 months, then is taken out and EATEN! Aparently it has a lot of penacillen and can cure any illness, ever cancer! People say it doesnt have much of a taste but WOW the smell is probably the WORST SMELL KNOWN TO MANKIND!!!!!!! Im not even joking. But in a mozamora it wasnt that noticable. Anywho, the activity was a sucess and we had quite a few investagores there!

We now share the ward with Elders! They´re both from Colombia!!! And it´s amazing to see the lidership and membership in this ward progress each and every week! I love it here!!

Awww, this week Arturo from Chosica came and visited our ward in Santa Anita!! It was so great to see him!!!!! It made my week!! I feel like Perú is my home and I have family that spreads across all of Lime East! hahaha. :)

I´ll send some photos now!!!!

LOVE YOU!!!!

FAMILY! I miss you and love you all!

I am now in my second area! Chosica! It´s know for it´s bugs and is the most provincia type area we have in Mision Lima Este! I love it. WE have huge dirt cerros with  brick houses and ramshackle stone steps and dirt pathways. I feel like I´m in the movie Aladan everytime. But also in our area we have city center with all the parks and stores. It´s beautiful here! Chosica has big green trees and it reminds me of Oregon!

So last week in Las Viñas I has a really cool experience with reciving an anwers to a prayer! I wrote to president in Spanish more or less so I´ll just send that. ahaha I would write it again but time it short! I can´t promise it´ll make sence....

Yo dije, vamos a orar y preguntar, Dios va a contestar! Ella me dijo, Como!?

LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! You´re amazing!

Love,

Hermana Cornu

Familia y amigos!

What a crazy week we´ve had! I´ve got two stories to share!

First, our very own Liberty Jail. (Okay, I´m being dramatic but really...)
So, this Wednesday Hermana Hazelton and I were really excited to work! We had lessions booked for every hour! Everyday we leave our house 11 am, and Wednesday was just like anyother day. We live in a house with a member of the church. And her house just like all the other house here in Peru has a gate around it. So, like normal we shut the house door behind us and go to unlock the gate door. BUT WE DIDN¨T HAVE THE KEYS!!!! We were stuck in between the house and the gate all day! FOR 7 HOURS!!!!!! I didn´t wait long to write a note and find a lady walking by to help! I said ma`am, can you help us? we´re locked between the house and the gate and have no way out. Will you give this note to our friend who lives on the next street so she can help us? And the old lady said NO. That she didn´t have time! AND SHE LIVED ON THE sAME STREET! I was thinking, well, you can either be a good sameratin or a crappy pharasee.. but explained how we were trapped and would be grateful if she could even just leave the note outside the door. Por fin she took the note! I was so grateful! About an hour or two passed by when Gabriel( a member in our ward) came up and said Hermanas! Need help? We were surprised to see gabriel and ask Grabriel, how did you know we were here? He said Cesar told me. We asked How did Cesar know?! He explained how Bishop told him! And how did Bishop know!? Jokingly he said, It´s on facebook hermanas! AH!!!! Ah! Que vergüenza! jajajaja No, Sheyla our pensionista called bishop. But I am short on time and can´t explain the details but long story short, we were trapped for seven hours, had lunch passed to us through the gate and missed all of our appointments. OH, and last week we lost our cell phone so that didn´t help. haha oh mercy, but the work is still moving forward!

I had another story more spiritual but only have 3 minutes left. But I´ll save it for next week!

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Hermana Cornu

*This is parts of the email Sonia forwarded to me! She has been so busy that she hasn't had a chance to write an email dedicated for the blog only so enjoy this one. -Tiffanee

Oh mercy, there´s so much to tell you! I have a new companion and life is SO HAPPY! Hermana Hazelton is so sweet, and likes to work HARD! I´m so excited! Las Viñas will never be the same! I am seriously so happy I can´t describe it!
SO...... I went to the hospital last week and had an ENDOSCOPY! The best part is I got a DVD of the procedure! How cool is that?! Well, there`s some news.... I have gastritis, ulcers (really small though), and probably a problem with my intestines. BUT I think I´ll be okay. I just have a lot of nausea, pain, and diarrhea but really, it´s not every moment of every day so life is good. But President made a strict rule that if there´s anyone ill for more than two weeks they have to go home to heal. I don´t think my gastritis is included in that. Oh, so I have an appointment this Wednesday to get the final results of my endoscope and hopefully will receive all the right medication to help!
Why does God heal some people right away and others after a trail of their faith when they had enough faith to ask for a blessing in the first place. Well, I think you already answered the question. It`s a trial of our faith. Faith is an action word and more than just a belief. When we live and make correct decisions based on what we know to be true, or what we believe, that is a demonstration of our faith. God often asks a little of us before we can receive his blessings. Why? For our spiritual good and our development. I received a blessing for my stomach the first month I got in the field and for the first time it felt like God was speaking directly to me through the words of the Elder giving me the blessing. I felt that God was and is really aware of me. In the blessing He said that my stomach would be healed but that it would take time. That I needed to learn patience. That what I am enduring is a little part of the atonement Christ suffered. That my savior is with me every step of the way. So I guess the purpose isn´t to ask, why is this happening to me. But to remember Christ suffered this for me and will help me overcome all things if but do my part. Faith is expressed in our actions. If God wants to humble ourselves and try our faith a little before we are healed or blessed it´s for our good. All that God does has a spiritual purpose. I know that God loves us and is our Heavenly Father. I know that my Savior lives. I have a testimony that this Church has the fullness of the Plan of Salvation and doctrines of Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is a true testament of Jesus Christ. And that the priesthood is the authority to perform the ordinances and covenants of God on this earth and has been restored. I understand more of His sacrifice. I learned that the Savior felt our pains and sins individually, like people waiting in a line, one by one. He knows us personally and individually. I believe he is constantly aware of us, guides us, helps us, and prays for us.
Keep praying for me but don´t worry! I`m really alright! and still hard at work! I LOVE YOU! Oh, and below is a copy of my letter to president in Spanish!
